We’ve made some amazing friends in the restaurant/food world, one of our finest friends is Chef Bill Telepan of Telepan Restaurant on NYC’s Upper West Side. Bill is an advocate in serving our children healthy and wholesome food in our school’s cafeterias. Every year, his charity WITS (Wellness in the Schools) holds a benefit to raise awareness and funds for this great cause.
WOW!! What a difference a day makes. Today was so much smoother than yesterday. What an amazing time we had. Extra Mooga was off the charts amazing. Here are some pics from the days festivities.
There’s something natural and right about pairing food and music together. And the people behind such music festivals as Bonnaroo and Outsidelands did just that with the Great GoogaMooga Festival in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Here are pictures from the first day of this two day festival. The concept of the festival is great, they just need to work out some kinks. We can’t wait until tomorrow!
When you get a chance to attend the James Beard Foundation Awards, you drop everything and go. Such was the case for two-thirds of Men Who Dine and this year’s 25th Anniversary festivities.
Approximately 4 days before the awards’ gala, Gennaro & I (Alan was away on vacation) received the news we were waiting for, “You guys are going to the James Beard Awards.” My heart actually skipped a beat. My brain went into overdrive to figure out the course of action that needed to be taken to actually attend the awards.
Mile End Sandwich

There’s something comforting, albeit a little fattening, about a late night smoked meat sandwich, a side of poutine and a Virgil’s Root Beer. And one place that does this combination of Quebec inspired fare the right way is Noah Bernamoff of Mile End Sandwich.
