Chef Table Takeover at NBC Studio 9C

It’s  just pure awesomeness when your invited to takeover the Chef Table at NBC Studios at 30 Rock! What a massive honor this was.  Jason Giagrande, the Global Food Services Director at NBC Universal, designed and created a new commissary in the legendary building on the 9th floor, the home of Saturday Night Live.  The space is simply gorgeous!  The two story high space overlooks Rockefeller Plaza and serves the nearly 4000 employees of NBC.  It takes a very special person like Jason to accomplish a such an incredible transformation in this historic space.  Jason’s vision was to elevate the cuisine of Studio 9C to that of any top restaurant in NYC and create a space that was fitting for such amazing food.  Studio 9C is a total success due to Jason’s suburb aesthetic sense and impressive business skills.  If fact, Jason is now designing restaurants and commissaries around the country for NBCUniversal and its affiliates.

The Celebrity Summit Kitchen – The Heart of the Operation!

The largest department on a cruise ship is its food and beverage team.  This makes perfect sense when you have to serve nearly 9000 meals per day.  This is the true heart of the operation.  On the Celebrity Summit, the food & beverage department is comprised of over 145 people from 55 countries around the world.  To operate in such high capacity at sea, the Food & Beverage Manager, Executive Chef, Bar Manager and Dining Room Managers all must be on top of every detail.  Celebrity Cruises unrelenting focus on cuisine quality is unlike any other cruise line and delivering at such a high-level is uber impressive.

Bermuda Sunset BBQ on Celebrity Summit

On the evening of July 17th, docked at King’s Wharf, Bermuda, Celebrity Summit Food and Beverage Manager Fabio exclaimed, Right now, this is the best restaurant in the world!” And that is was!  The “Excite The Senses” Sunset BBQ at the Sunset Bar on Deck 10 was something out of a dream.  It is hard to describe just how special this event was and how extraordinary the culinary team at Celebrity Cruises operates.  This BBQ was one of those experiences in life that will become engrained into our culinary memory as one of the most memorable and delicious experiences of all-time.

Celebrity Cruises “Excite the Senses” – Day 1

Day one of our Celebrity Cruises “Excite The Senses” trip to Bermuda was truly filled with excitement.  After setting sail from Bayonne, NJ we crossed under the Verrazano Bridge and headed into open ocean.  The buzz on the ship was palpable as we began to explore the ship and realize that we were in for a major treat.  This ship is a floating work-of-art and we plan to experience it all!
