Whether it’s that initial jolt of caffeine in the morning or a latte at a cafe with friends, coffee is a part of our society. But not all coffees are created equal. This is something, we learned first hand over the weekend at illy’s Welcome Center at the Food Network New York City Wine and Food Festival.
Charles Phan’s Book Launch Party at Union Square Event’s Kitchen
Last night, we were invited to Chef Charles Phan’s book launch party at Union Square Event’s Kitchen in NYC. Chef Phan is the chef/owner of the Slanted Door in San Francisco, California. His new book entitled “Vietnamese Home Cooking” showcases the flavor and simplicity of a Vietnamese home kitchen.

Jose and Dr. Beatriz Garces are proud to announce that tickets are on sale now for the First-Annual Garces Family Foundation Gala, to be held on Wednesday, October 10 at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. The Garces Family Foundation will serve the greater Philadelphia area’s immigrant population and help to fund much-needed healthcare and nutritional programming. Funds raised at the Gala will support Puentes de Salud (“Bridges of Health”), whose co-founder and executive director, Dr. Steven Larson, will be the event’s honoree.
