Chefs to Dine For – David Burke

DSC_0054

One of our favorite people in the food world is Lynne Ryan, owner of Chefs To Dine For.  When Lynne invited us to join her at David Burke Townhouse for a private dinner, needless to say, we graciously accepted! We have been huge fans of all things David Burke for many years now and going to Townhouse is always a magical experience.

A Definite Go-To For NYC Restaurant Week: David Burke Kitchen

Whenever Restaurant Week in NYC rolls around, there’s one place we put on the top of our list.  And that’s David Burke Kitchen in the James Hotel on Grand Street.

Hayden’s Heroes Benefit Honoring Chef Gerry Hayden at Colicchio & Sons

Like any fraternal order or brotherhood, when one of their own is hurting or in pain, chefs come together to lend a hand.  Such was the case with Chef Gerry Hayden of the North Fork Table & Inn who was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) a year and a half ago.  ALS is a debilitating disease that affects the patients central nervous system.  There is no known cure for the disease, however there have been a few breakthroughs.  Top chef friends of Gerry came together on a warm Sunday evening in June at Tom Colicchio’s Colicchio & Sons in NYC to show support and offer their solidarity to one of their own.  These chefs from around the country prepared delicious tastings for all of us in attendance.  It was an honor and a privilege to be there for this worthy cause.  Here are some of the pictures we took during the night.  For more information on Hayden’s Heroes, please visit: www.giveforward.com/haydensheroes.

We enjoyed our first NYC Winter Restaurant Week dinner at David Burke Kitchen on Grand Street in SoHo in the beautiful James Hotel. The overall experience was truly exceptional.  Chef David Burke is a master of his craft.  I am remiss in admitting that this was my first experience at a Burke restaurant.
