There are few events held anywhere on the face of this Earth that can compare to the Annual Truffle Gala at SD26. Over 4500 grams White Alba Truffles were transported into the United States by Italy’s most famous truffle hunter, many as large as softballs. Placed onto each table in SD26′s spectacular dining room, was a pile of these babies ready for the very lucky guests to shave copious amounts at will onto each course of some of the best Italian food we have ever had. Yes friends, this is a pure and utter fantasy meal.
When Josh Ozersky asked us to come on board with helping promote Meatopia, to be honest we really didn’t know what to expect. The festival has been around for 8 years, and to be honest, none of us had attended a past one, although we’ve always heard great things. So we were anxious & excited when Saturday, September 8 rolled around.

For those of you out there that are meat lovers and have never heard of Meatopia, you are sorely deprived. Meatopia which is considered the “Woodstock of Edible Animals” is the brainchild of our friend Josh Ozersky (www.ozersky.tv). This year’s festivities will be taking place on Saturday, September 8 on Randall’s Island in NYC and promises to be the biggest and baddest Meatopia, yet!

It’s not everyday, you get to celebrate the release of a new cookbook with an awesome chef like Seamus Mullen of Tertulia. This was the case last night. We attended Seamus’ party at Tertulia with our great friend Mike Colicchio. We enjoyed a plethora of sangria and Spanish tapas. The paella was absolutely phenomenal. Tertulia is one of those places that you’d be remiss in not dining at at least once. Seamus’ book “Hero Food” is a beautifully written and thoughtful cookbook. It’s a book that every home cook and chef should have in their library and refer to often. We do!
