The Men Who Dine Enjoy a Summer Sunday Cookout with the Cascella/Telepan Family
The Men Who Dine with Bill Telepan and our hosts Cindy & Vito Cascella
One thing we are firm believers in is making friends for life!! And so begins the tale of how we ended up at the Cascella/Telepan Family Cookout last Sunday. We met Vito and Cindy Cascella last December at the Brooklyn Academy of Music during Edible Brooklyn’s Annual Latke Festival. Cindy’s brother is the very talented chef Bill Telepan of Telepan Restaurant on NYC’s Upper West Side. We’ve been acquainted with Bill for quite some time, but this was our first time meeting Vito and Cindy. We hit it off instantly and by the end of the night after a few beers and many latkes, Vito and Cindy invited us to their annual family BBQ/cookout.

A Great Dinner at Joanne Trattoria
Last night, we had the opportunity to dine at the restaurant with the hottest table in town, Joanne Trattoria on West 68th Street in NYC. Joanne Trattoria is the baby of Joe Germanotta, father of Stefani Germanotta (better known as Lady Gaga). Joe put together a crack team for his first venture into the restaurant business. He has enlisted the talents of Chef Art Smith. Chef Art has numerous places across the country including Art & Soul in Washington D.C. and Table 52 in Chicago. He was also Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef. Chef Art marries his Southern comfort food ways with those of the Italian-American kitchen. Here are some pictures from our dinner.
